General EPCIS Checks
  • Document: version, schemaVersion, creationDate, events present
  • Structure: action per event type, EPCs or quantities present, parentID on aggregations
  • Dates: eventTime, timezone offset, recordTime order, future dates, ILMD expiry
  • Identifiers: GS1 digit counts, serial format, SGLN locations, Digital Link check digits
  • CBV: bizStep, disposition, business transaction and source or destination types
  • Duplicates: repeated EPCs within an event, repeated eventIDs
  • Sequence: shipping before commissioning, events after decommissioning
  • Aggregation: item in two containers, uncommissioned or self nesting containers

Findings are graded as failures, warnings or observations, and each one points at the events it came from.
