• 2013 ... Secondary packaging goes live. Carton-level barcoding rolls out.
• Jan 2023 .... QR codes mandated on all APIs. ~2,500 active ingredients covered across every packaging level.
• Aug 2023 .... Top 300 formulations covered. GS1-based QR codes on India's top 300 drug brands ... Schedule H, H1, X.
• Jan 2025 ... DGFT withdraws export T&T. Authority shifts to MoH&FW. Health-led, not trade-led.
This is what 14 years of iteration looks like when a country gets serious about protecting its pharmaceutical supply chain.
