UGANDA through their National drug authority (NDA) announce track and trace implementation plan
Phase 1 will focus on building the foundational regulatory policies, governance structure, traceability architectural components and infrastructure and human resource capacity.
Phase 2 will focus on implementing regulatory policies for product identification and labelling (data capture). It will enhance infrastructure, including traceability components like verification mobile applications.
this phase will incrementally broaden the range of products traceable to the batch level. This phase will establish momentum for integrating traceability data and processes, such as GTINs and AIDC.
Phase 3 will strive to attain end-to-end traceability, beginning with batch traceability for all products and serial number traceability for at least 50% of health products. It aims to have all elements of the traceability architecture established, along with sufficient infrastructure across all facilities to facilitate tracking, tracing, and verification processes.
