Kenya just set its Track and Trace clock.

The Pharmacy and Poisons Board, together with the Digital Health Agency, issued a regulatory notice on 21 July 2026 launching the National Authentication and Traceability System for Health Products and Technologies.

The timeline:

3 August 2026 — System goes live.

3 August to 31 December 2026 — Transition period. Batch-level traceability only, using batch numbers declared to the Board. Applies to both locally manufactured and imported products.

1 January 2027 — Full compliance. Batch-level traceability plus unit-level serialization aligned with GS1 standards.

31 October 2026 — Separate deadline. All pharmaceutical premises, pharmacists and pharmaceutical technologists must be onboarded to Facility 360 and Practice 360. Completing this is a prerequisite for the 2027 annual licensing cycle.
