NMVO Italiaa has announced a new annual fee model, moving from a uniform flat fee to a tiered contribution structure based on each Marketing Authorisation Holder’s prescription medicine (RX) turnover in Italy.
Under the new model:
🔹 Each MAH’s contribution is determined by its Italian RX turnover in the fiscal year preceding the collection year.
🔹 Companies are assigned to predefined turnover bands using self-declared data or, where unavailable, public sources.
🔹 A maximum combined contribution applies to MAHs belonging to the same corporate group.
According to NMVO Italiaa, the structure follows its non-profit model and aligns with fee models used by major European NMVOs. These contributions support the implementation and operation of Italy’s National Medicines Verification System.
