Kazakhstan’s pharmaceutical Track & Trace system is now live and operating at national scale.
💊 Since mandatory pharmaceutical marking started in July 2024, more than 1.1 billion medicine packs have passed through the digital marking and traceability system.
The system now enables authorities to track the movement of marked medicines from manufacturer/importer → distributor → pharmacy/medical organization → patient, while also supporting visibility of medicine availability and actual pharmacy prices.
📱 Patients can also scan the Data Matrix code using the Naqty Onim digital service to verify the medicine, its marking status, and information about its movement through the supply chain.
But Kazakhstan’s journey is now going beyond pharmaceuticals.
The national Tañba marking and traceability infrastructure is expanding to other product categories:
🍬 Confectionery products .. a digital labeling pilot launched in June 2026.
💊 Dietary supplements .. mandatory digital marking started on September 1, 2026, with mandatory traceability planned from March 1, 2027.
📜 The broader regulatory framework was strengthened through Government Decree No. 242 of April 25, 2022, amending Decree No. 568 of September 10, 2020 on the list of goods subject to mandatory labeling.
