Kazakhstan Updates Its Pharmaceutical Track AND Trace Rules

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Health issued Order No. 151 on 28 October 2026, updating the country’s existing rules for medicine marking and traceability. The revised rules take effect on 10 November 2026.

What changes in practice?

🔹 Foreign manufacturers and marketing authorisation holders must submit an electronically signed report to the national system before handing over marked medicines to the importer. The report identifies the codes being transferred.

🔹 Packaging teams can now aggregate packs with different GTINs in the same shipping case. The codes inside the case must be linked to the case code and reported to the national system.

🔹 Distributors and pharmacies receiving marked medicines must confirm receipt electronically within one working day of actual delivery and before any further operations. The previous rule measured that window from acceptance.

🔹 Companies with branches or outlets under the same registration number must set up each site separately in the national system and specify its role.
